Procopé & Hornborg advised Ensto Oy on its acquisition of the majority stake in Protrol AB. The rest of the stakes will remain in the ownership of Protrol’s key personnel. Protrol AB is a Swedish company specializing in electronic power and automation technologies. The product portfolio is built around a patented earth fault detection technology.
The acquisition supplements Ensto’s growth strategy and its vision to become a leading expert for Distribution Systems Operators. The acquisition also strengthens its position as a supplier and expert of new smart technologies for electricity distribution networks.
Ensto is a growth-oriented and international family business that designs and provides smart electrical solutions for electricity distribution networks. Ensto employs 850 professionals in 17 different countries in Europe and Asia. In 2020, Ensto generated a turnover of EUR 250 million.
