Procopé & Hornborg acted as the Legal Advisor for Etteplan Plc in its acquisition of EMP Engineering Alliance Group. With the acquisition, Etteplan expanded its operations in Germany into engineering services, aligning with its growth strategy, at the core of which is organic growth and strengthening the company’s expertise and market position through acquisitions. Procopé & Hornborg managed the transaction process, which included, amongst other things, coordinating the local Due Diligence review, deal negotiations and closing together with local advisors Esche Schümann Commichau and KPMG.
Etteplan specialises in industrial equipment and plant engineering solutions, software and embedded system solutions, as well as in technical documentation solutions, with an annual turnover of MEUR 236 in 2018. EMP Engineering Alliance Group specialises in industrial automation, electrical engineering and process engineering. In 2018 its total turnover was MEUR 16.8. The acquisition is significant for Etteplan, which will consequently be expanding to five different cities in Germany. Before this acquisition, Etteplan had already acquired Arvato AG’s technical documentation business in Germany in 2015.
